Gothenburg, Sweden, February 2010. A lovely experience on a cloudy day. Very high ISO, but I´m happy anyhow!
My name is Mikael Johansson and I am an amateur photographer, web developer, writer and outdoor freak from Sweden. This photo blog is not a portfolio, but it shows some of the pictures that I don´t have use for in my daily work. My pictures are normally published in the Swedish sportfishing magazine “Fiske-Feber” and in the articles from the travel agency “GetAway Tours”. I´m a sportfishing maniac.
But.
I love wildlife photography and the main purpose of this blog is to show some of those pictures, get criticism and develop my photographic skills.
Each new new bird species I photograph can be found in my bird archive. Click on "Bird pictures" in the menu above. There are lots of documentation pictures, but also some good ones.
Enjoy your stay!
Mikael

Gothenburg, Sweden, February 2010. A lovely experience on a cloudy day. Very high ISO, but I´m happy anyhow!

A grim and frostbitten new years eve morning at the westcoast of Sweden. Just before dawn this red moon disappeared behind the trees. -15 degrees celsius.
My bird picture archive, (bird pictures in the menu above), contains documentation pictures mixed with some better ones.
New documentation pictures: Kungsfiskare / Kingfisher [Alcedo atthis] – Sandlöpare / Sanderling [Calidris alba] and Vinterhämpling / Twite [Carduelis flavirostris].
I recently came back from a fishing trip to Panama. We had a great time and caught a lot of different species in various sizes. But the crown jewel of the Pacific got to be the Rooster Fish. I think they are one of the most stunning and beautyful fishes in the world. Have a look at this one!

I took this picture when I was 12 years old. I´m now, *cough*, 34 years old. The picture is technically really, really bad, but it´s still one of my favourite pics. We were ringing (ringmärkning in swedish) juvenile owls (Tengmalm´s Owl/Pärluggla) and I took a couple of shots with my first system camera (Konica. Thanks to my parents!). Owls has ever since been my absolute favourite and I´m sure that´s quite obvious for you who follow this blog. And that´s the reason why I haven´t posted any bird pictures lately. I´ve been chasing owls. Without luck. But the project remains active. As long as I live. :)

Scanned 35 mm. Overexposed eyes. Flash :) Converted to b/w. Dirt included.
The swedish version of GetAway Tours is now online. If you´re into sportfishing – don´t miss “Catch Of The Day”. New pics every day! Click here to visit getawaytours.se. There is also a new feature on both .dk/.se – “Meet the GetAways”.

I was asked to cover a baptism/baptize (or what ever it´s called) last week. Here´s a couple of favourites. Friends and relatives – send me an email if you want to see more pics.
