It´s been over a month since I updated my blog. Sorry. I have been busy chasing mullets on the westcoast of Sweden. This mysterious fish has taken over my mind and I must admit that I´ve become addicted to these powerful creatures. I have not given up on the bird photography, but until I find out how to catch the biggest mullet – no blogging :)

In January I went to the Red Sea to try out the popperfishing for Giant Trevally. We fished the southern parts of Egypt and tried out some spots in Sudan as well. There were lots of GT´s in medium sizes and also many barracudas, snappers and different jacks. Most of the pictures from this trip will be used in articles and can´t be shown – yet. But here are some that didn´t make the cut:

More pics from Fraser River, november 2010!

I recently came back from a trip to Canada and the mighty Fraser River. I´ve got tons of pics, but let´s start with this closeup of a white sturgeon. Receptors, everywhere!
Huge amounts of Atlantic Bonito appeared this fall at the west coast of Sweden. They are normally found along the subtropical coasts in the Atlantic ocean and in the Mediterranean sea. But somehow they found their way in to the warm water outlet of the nuclear plant Ringhals, north of Varberg, Sweden. A bonanza of unmeasurable scales came to light. Loads of trolling teams from all over Sweden came to have a go at the Atlantic Bonito! I wrote an article for the Swedish sportfishing magazine Fiske-Feber about this phenomenon. Pictures and text in the latest issue – Fiske-Feber 6/2010. Here´s the cover and a couple of pics:

Atlantic Bonito!

Big Jack Crevalle. Panama, April 2010.
I recently came back from a fishing trip to Panama. We had a great time and caught a lot of different species in various sizes. But the crown jewel of the Pacific got to be the Rooster Fish. I think they are one of the most stunning and beautyful fishes in the world. Have a look at this one!

The swedish version of GetAway Tours is now online. If you´re into sportfishing – don´t miss ”Catch Of The Day”. New pics every day! Click here to visit getawaytours.se. There is also a new feature on both .dk/.se – ”Meet the GetAways”.

A picture I´ve forgot to show on the blog. One of the best frames from a trip to Bijagos outside Guinea-Bissau in 2007. My colleague Kim caught this Jack Crevalle when we fished from the beach near our base camp.
Nikon F5, scanned 35mm slide.

Check out the new website for getawaytours.dk! Don´t miss ”Catch of the day” – new pic and story everday! We will upgrade the remaining sites this spring.

Well, the ice disappeared quicker than lightning… I´m longing for the lovely mornings of May instead.

Ice. Finally! That means only one thing. Ice fishing!

Me with a tiny white sturgeon. This little fellow will be a giant around 100 years from now. Impressive…

Me with a decent GT. I caught this one where the Persian gulf meets the Indian Ocean during a trip to Oman this month.
