My name is Mikael Johansson and I am an amateur photographer from Sweden. This is my photo blog. I mainly present pictures of wildlife, especially birds. I started to photograph birds 2008 and the main purpose with this blog is to show some of the pictures, get criticism and develop my photographic skills.
I work a lot with sportfishing (travel agency and magazine). Now and then I will post pictures from some of my travels. Eventually I will collect them all in an archive.
Every new bird species I photograph can be found in the archive. Click on Birds in the menu above. There are lots of documentation pictures, but also som good ones.
Please leave a comment!
Enjoy your stay!
Mikael

I live close to a nature photographers paradise. No doubt about it. The pics above was taken during a walk the other day and though I was mad about the grey weather I must admit – I love this town. A Buzzard and a Peregrine Falcon. Just like that. I am not proud of the quality of the pics, but this is a photo blog. Some days I succeed taking the pictures I long for. Some days I end up in a mist. But I can always try again, when the light is right. I have these birds in my backyard :) Until I get my shots I will keep on trying to hide and blend in. Just like these birds, in their daily search of food.
But I long for times like this…

During a couple of hours last Saturday the coast of Varberg, Sweden, looked like this. Winter sceneries at its best. Say no more. Nudge nudge!
Huge amounts of Atlantic Bonito appeared this fall at the west coast of Sweden. They are normally found along the subtropical coasts in the Atlantic ocean and in the Mediterranean sea. But somehow they found their way in to the warm water outlet of the nuclear plant Ringhals, north of Varberg, Sweden. A bonanza of unmeasurable scales came to light. Loads of trolling teams from all over Sweden came to have a go at the Atlantic Bonito! I wrote an article for the Swedish sportfishing magazine Fiske-Feber about this phenomenon. Pictures and text in the latest issue – Fiske-Feber 6/2010. Here´s the cover and a couple of pics:
